This is such a simple recipe for ice cream but is so creamy because of the heavy cream and it holds nicely in the freezer! If you have it or can find it, the butter and nut flavoring elevates the taste of the ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream

  • 1 Tbsp vanilla

  • 1/2 teaspoon butter and nut flavoring (optional, adds a nice color and flavor to the ice cream)

Directions

  • Whisk together whole milk and sugar.
  • Add heavy whipping cream and vanilla (and butter and nut flavoring).
  • Pour into ice cream maker and churn for 25 minutes.
  • Transfer ice cream into a plastic container and freeze for at least 6 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Store the ice cream maker freezer bowl in your freezer! That way if you decide to have ice cream for dinner, you don’t have to wait for the freezer bowl to get cold enough. You can churn your ice cream while you eat breakfast and have it ready for later in the day!
