Great variation to the vanilla ice cream recipe! Great consistency and strawberry flavor! Just the right amount of sweetness.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups whole milk

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 cups heavy cream

  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla

  • 1 1/2 cups strawberries, crushed

  • 1/2 cup sugar

Directions

  • Crush strawberries using a potato masher or fork. Add 1/2 cup sugar and set aside for at least 20 minutes.
  • Whisk 1 cup sugar with whole milk, until sugar has dissolved, 2 minutes.
  • Add in heavy cream and vanilla and mix.
  • Place mixture into ice cream maker. Half way through the process add the strawberry mixture to the ice cream. Total time will be about 25-30 minutes.
  • Place frozen ice cream into a container and freeze for at least 6 hours before serving.

Notes

  • You could probably substitute with different fruits. Will try different ones as they come in season and post the pictures!
  • Add a squirt of chocolate syrup to the top with a little whipped cream for a lovely sundae!
