Ingredients
4 oz or 4 squares of semi-sweet chocolate
1/2 cup butter
1 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
6 Tbsp flour
Whipped topping
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Butter 4 ramekins and place on a baking sheet.
- Place chocolate and 1/2 cup butter into a microwaveable bowl. Microwave for 1 minute or until butter is melted. Stir with wire whisk until chocolate is melted and blended with the butter.
- Stir in the sugar until well blended.
- Whisk in the eggs and egg yolks.
- Stir in flour.
- Divide batter between prepared dishes.
- Bake 13 to 14 minutes until sides are firm and center is soft. Let stand 1 minute.
- Run a knife around the cake to loosen it from the dish. Invert cake onto a plate.
- Top with whipped cream and serve immediately.
Notes
- You can make the center as liquidy or solid as you would like by simply extending the cook time by a minute or two. I also will use semi sweet chocolate morsels if I don’t have chocolate squares.
- You can make the recipe up to filling the ramekins and store them in the fridge. Then when you are ready to serve dessert, pop them in the oven. You will need to add a couple minutes to the timing if the dishes are cold.
