Looking for a quick dinner idea? This baked fish is so simple and quick to make and provides a wonderful punch of fresh flavor with the mustard, lemon and garlic!

Ingredients

  • 4- 6 oz fish fillets

  • 4 Tbsp butter

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely minced

  • 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • salt and pepper

  • chopped parsley and sliced lemons for garnish

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 390 degrees.
  • Pat dry fish fillets and season with salt and pepper. Place fish fillets in baking dish.
  • In a microwaveable bowl, place butter, cream, garlic, mustard, lemon juice and pinch of salt and pepper and microwave for 30 second intervals, stirring mixture until butter is melted.
  • Pour mixture over fish fillets.
  • Bake fish for 10 to 12 minutes for thinner fillets and 20-30 minutes for thick fish steaks.
  • When serving place fish on plate and spoon mustard cream sauce over fish. Sprinkle parsley over fish and accompany with a slice or wedge of lemon on plate.

Notes

  • I have made this dish using a flakier fish like drum and also with thicker steaks like cobia. Both are delicious! This is such a lovely sauce that if you cut the fish down to 2 portions, don’t cut down the mustard cream sauce!
