minutesSomeone asked me for my recipe for chocolate ice cream and honestly most times I make vanilla. Made this recipe today because I had a pint of chocolate milk in my fridge and it turned out great! The expresso powder helps to bring out the chocolate flavor! I also added a little extra chocolate syrup to give it a deeper chocolate taste. This recipe is so simple and really quick to make. Longest part is waiting for the ice cream to churn!
Ingredients
2 cups chocolate milk
1 teaspoon expresso powder
1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 cups heavy whipping cream
Directions
- Combine chocolate milk, expresso powder, chocolate syrup and sugar in a bowl and mix until sugar is dissolved.
- Mix in vanilla and heavy cream.
- Put ice cream mixture into ice cream machine and churn for 25 minutes.
- Transfer ice cream to a plastic container and freeze for at least 6 hours before serving.
Notes
- I would buy store bought chocolate milk vs making your own. It tends to be thicker and have a deeper chocolate flavor. Shout out to Destiny dairy whose chocolate milk I used in this recipe!
