Ingredients
1 1/4 cups whole milk
1 cup sugar
2 cups heavy cream
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups strawberries, crushed
1/2 cup sugar
Directions
- Crush strawberries using a potato masher or fork. Add 1/2 cup sugar and set aside for at least 20 minutes.
- Whisk 1 cup sugar with whole milk, until sugar has dissolved, 2 minutes.
- Add in heavy cream and vanilla and mix.
- Place mixture into ice cream maker. Half way through the process add the strawberry mixture to the ice cream. Total time will be about 25-30 minutes.
- Place frozen ice cream into a container and freeze for at least 6 hours before serving.
Notes
- You could probably substitute with different fruits. Will try different ones as they come in season and post the pictures!
- Add a squirt of chocolate syrup to the top with a little whipped cream for a lovely sundae!
