Found this recipe on Hershey’s Brownie Mix. By request, the recipe is being added to my blog, both for myself and my friends who felt this was such a delicious and indulgent dessert. You only need a small piece to satisfy your sweet tooth! Brownies are one of the things I don’t make from scratch….at least not yet. I haven’t found a good recipe yet that gives me the consistency I want in a brownie.

Ingredients

  • One brownie mix

  • Filling:

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter

  • 2 cups powdered sugar

  • 2 teaspoon milk

  • Topping:

  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

  • 1/4 cup butter

Directions

  • Make the brownie mix according to box instructions for a 8X8 pan. Cool to room temperature.
  • In bowl, beat together the peanut butter, butter, powdered sugar, 2 teaspoon milk until smooth.
  • In a small, microwavable dish, place chocolate chips and butter. Microwave for 30 seconds, then stir. Add additional seconds to melt butter and chocolate and stir until smooth. Let cool for about 10 minutes.
  • Spread peanut butter on top of the cooled brownie.
  • Pour and spread melted chocolate on top of the peanut butter layer.
  • If you store this in the refrigerator, remove from fridge at least 20 minutes before to bring it to room temp so the chocolate is not hard which makes it more difficult to eat.

Notes

  • Brownies are one of the things I don’t make from scratch….at least not yet. I haven’t found a good recipe yet that gives me the consistency I want in a brownie.
